I'll Start Living

I'll start living — so far it's been kind of meh. So much went down that never had time to heal. Feelings on band-aids, my psyche held together with duct tape. Like Voldemort with a soul split into seven. I haven't killed anyone — at least not with my hands. Never cursed or betrayed; loyalty's always held dear. I put up a fence to spend less time among fools, But never put up with nonsense to coax out an honest yes. I chose the highways that promised plenty of money. Along with a heap of the same, at the speed of a meter a day I remember more good came from a few rounds of pitching coins at a wall. I chose the narrow paths to search for bright ideas. Faithful I was. Faithful I am. Faithful I'll be. But not just to my wife — to the traditions of ancient times. I won't give all my goods to the poor. I'm not Robin Hood's son. But I'll help with good in honor of the One of the great names. I'm like Him. But I create in my head and in bed. He's always been in me. I only recently heard Him. Turns out He's in billions of products just like me. Split among everyone equally, forgetting no one. I'll start living — so far it's been kind of meh. There was so much — good thing I'm still alive. I'll give thanks. The hour allotted me is short. Until the One inside tells me — time for us to go home.
