Poems from a Stool · 2024

The stone jaws of the mountains closed

The stone jaws of the mountains snapped shut. And someone didn't come back unharmed. Thanks to hands unseen, invisible, The four, shedding their weights, race at full tilt Back to where, in fact, they had come down from. Rest in peace, guys.. a pity we never said goodbye. You went where anything can happen… You knew.. But stone broke characters of steel. And the summit quietly weeps along with us… The earth by accident destroyed its own son. May the strength of your spirits on the shining slope, Having gazed its fill, fall peacefully asleep in the bosom Of the mistress of the rocks, the keeper of the firmament. We knew you in life. We'll remember you after death.
