Clouds Overhead

Clouds are drifting overhead. Solid ground is underfoot. I'm lagging behind those old ways, Flagging from the ones who lie. Sun. The stars. We gaze in quiet At each other, day by day. Loud domestic human riot Through the opening flies away. Through a square of glass and boards, Swirling, mixing over there. Light from little striped rays. Smiles on lips everywhere. Here I am, my glasses on, Climbing higher, gaining height. Rubber gently rubs my gums. I take in the lovely sight. Of the flowers' rich variety, Of the warmth in human hearts. Floating, floating in ecstasy! I'm a dweller of my Earth! Joyful faces rushing off To their jobs and nursery school. Maybe this is all a dream… Even so. I'm very glad.
