Couldn't Sleep Till Morning

Couldn't sleep till morning. As if all night long They were reflashing my firmware on the back end. The reflection in the mirror looks like a perfect match. But inside — a destructive Shiva. He's wreaked such havoc it's hard to tell Where the familiar person has gone. This lace of a body has lived through so many rounds, Sensing the cyclical nature of processes. I didn't want to fall asleep. Terror gripped my chest, Making me curl up in bed. As if I'd walked a long way, but the road had ended, And ended at the wrong time somehow. And the old eyes see in a new way. The ears take in sounds differently. The mouth's in no hurry to tell it all. Someone is hiding the access to what used to be… I'm not sure the world outside the window is the same as yesterday, Since I feel — mine isn't the same. Again the mornings will replace the evenings just the same. Soon one day will look just like the next…
