Well then, it seems that He's awake

Well then, it seems that He's awake. The beast that chases and that flees. This morning he took on my shape. And he who once was me — lies still He doesn't care now anymore Where this suit was rushing to But, friends, I'll tell you honestly The suit's not cheerful, it is glum No, it's not worn through into holes There are no "entry" and no "exit" ones It's simply, brothers, crushed by the World Of those outside, of those alive A few incisions have been stitched But on the whole it's whole, the cloth is strong It isn't drugged, it's sober It sees the waves from up above And the beast I've jumped into Rushes into hell, straight into the fight Not showy, but its own true self Like living, breathing, as it comes Victory, yes, he strives for it But only victory over himself He'll win and be surprised That's it, life's over. It was a game.
