A Time for Everything

To give each thing its proper time, But timely — and dissolve in it. To leave the needless load behind And savor every single sip Of bottles from some vintage year From heaven's everlasting store. Of male or of the female kind, Of any race that's ever been. Perhaps WE ALL are merely thoughts In brains of gods who're having fun. And each holds meaning, vast and great — Enough to fill two infinities. From thoughts the patterns weave and spread, In which we hurry to take form. And matter's made by the gaze of those Who somewhere out there laugh and play.
