And Now I'm Just Past Thirty

And now I'm just a bit past thirty, And not even sad at all. So much light is sparkling in me, And everything's so beautiful and tasty. My eyes are smiling, squinting, I don't hide my gaze from the sun. More and more often I worry less often, And above all — where there's no need. And my step is getting firmer, My hand doesn't shake in foul weather. And I bristle less and less, And the sorting into suits is sharper. Calmer about the rocking and the storms — Standing rooted at the helm. By the generally unaccepted norms, Heading into the most dangerous waves Priorities are set: Health, family and work. Between them, always parity, Even if that offends someone. My wife is a true friend forever. Our home welcomes almost anyone. I know where the rivers run — I can lead you to the ferry. I feel it's high time To meet the one who'll dare To take on the human burden And come into the world through us.
