You Speak — I Lend My Shoulders

You speak — I lend my shoulders Beneath each word that's spoken So we can cross the bridge as lightly as we can, Step after step, breath after breath, done. Let my love become the parapet, Oh, don't be shy, here, grab on tighter. The uninterrupted mind — a mobile perpetuum — Draws rainbow sketches of life. But that's only if the bridge is finished. Its pillars pierce the Earth right through. Fear has no power to unsettle our Troy. To you, O World, we listen in awe. The Zeitgeist never sleeps, gathering crowds At temples, markets, graveyards and mosques. Through the thin layer of a test tube or a flask We wave our souls at hundreds of millennia. We hope that someday they will notice us. Not across the bridge — over heads we walk. There's no sign, but the floor is a little wet… But what can you do — the pack decides it all, Wolves, hyenas and office plankton, As long as the lion king pays them for the prey. When need comes — he'll hand out his pantaloons And start poking his bare butt in their mugs. So maybe a head with no tsar in it is at peace? Let the abandoned servants serve the world. They won't send their children off to wars… With them the age of Kali Yuga will sink into Lethe.
