We're here for a moment, one short moment

We're here for a moment, one short moment. Let it make you sad to hear this news. Let pride be lost for words on hearing it, Let youth promise fabulous riches. And every year will add to the closet a collection of intrigues.. family secrets, hidden evidence. Through life with a remote, with a cult of the human, We fast-forward needless events with a click, until a wild, bestial scream breaks out… Let unpublished hatred dry out in memoirs, There's no sense in huge unspent royalties, But at least they weren't blown on filth and lechery, On the fact that everyone around lies, so sincerely. And though your work is hard and out of fashion, Still persistence, kind of, under a cloak and in foul weather, Works for you, cherishing your talent. Atlantis won't sink if at least one Atlas Lives on, and cultural values, like the apple of his eye, As carefully as his might and main allow, Keeps, as they are, in their pristine form, Living in harmony, not in a victim's grudge, And, being a creature of a high rank, Naturally, with a flaw here and there — Well yes, at times he may spit venom, But that's just for the sake of a phrase, he's not a boor, Even if he's drunk — well, only drunk on happiness, A hookah in hand — but a harmless one, softened with milk. A bit of a troublemaker — but only to test old truths. Like many — envious — and, by accident, forgetting his toil-worn hands in someone else's, He scatters money — the way trees scatter leaves, And unafraid — the law will surely clear him, Will report: everyone, know this, this mister is selfless! Just like that, no extra words, and no more are needed, Go and be well, and take your herd along with you, Away from the children, from their unprepared minds, From the most sincere ideas, not twisted by the darkness of allegory. No, they don't need premature answers. Why put a veto on their free choice? And with that ban, wiping out their talents. Like, it didn't work out for me — so I'll kill Atlas. That way we shoot a whole nation in the foot. And what do we care — it's not us, the Gods are to blame for everything. Everything is fleeting — like the rising of the sun. Nothing is eternal — therein lies our strength. We're here for a moment, one short moment. Point it toward the light, and not into a dead end.
