Who Among Us?

Well, who among us has never played at God and raised the world again from its tiniest parts? And who among us, with a master's grip on the Russian word, after wrecking this world, didn't crawl on the floor with a broken heart? And who among us, who knows himself not at all, runs shuttle sprints to heaven's gate? To and fro… a scurrying flock, one and all, leaving a trail — and headlong back again, in haste. None of us can recall afresh the road back home, the talks with Him — only as we fall asleep, in the quiet, languid flesh, like daylight in a window, the halo dims.
