Poems from a Stool · 2026
He'd have met Her Highness
He'd have met Her Highness…
But solitude was his sentence, ordered
By the one who once ruled the kingdom,
Turning the king into her slave.
She'd have met His Grace,
But a touch of stubbornness gets in the way.
And besides, there's another one on a leash.
Gazing in her eyes and holding out flowers.
His Grace, on seeing Her Highness,
Will believe in any prophecy again.
And she'll remember the flowers
And the little lights of faithful eyes in the dark…
