What If It's Forever

What if it's forever, The pain's dug in and sends its regards… The wires hum from the vibrations, But the replies don't bother it. Sadly, even words Don't always reach the addressee. Very sweet, like baklava, Like drizzled with cussing like condensed milk. What if there'll always be A loud, frightening cackle heard… The beard has gone a little grey, And under it your experience is a lump in the throat. Can't swallow this sharp Adam's apple, It's no bother, it just scares passers-by. The inner bull sees red And sweeps aside everything it can. Well, what if forever the pain goes away. What will be the meaning then… The wires will stop humming. The body will breathe out carbon dioxide.
